Ellen has been such a joy to have in our lives over the past 6 weeks. From labor through bringing her home there was a sense of peace and joy that I had not had with the other two (because I am a perfectionistic worrier- boo). I let go of perfection and embraced taking it slow. Blake helped so much with the older boys and I actually got a lot of sleep from the beginning. While I know this season will come to an end, I am leaning in to enjoy it as fully as possible. I love the quote from the office, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them”. I know this is the good old days and I will remember this time so fondly.
My Labor and delivery team at St.Francis was absolutely amazing. Joy, my midwife, was phenomenal. She is actually a past client of mine so it was so neat to see her in her element. She is a boss! My nurse, Courtney, made me feel so at ease and really took care of Ellen and I. It was so special to have my sister in law, Rachel, in during the birth and Blake actually missed Ellen making her entrance because he turned around for a second. Poor guy! Fun fact- I was walking around with my water broken for who knows how long- a few days? a week? Go figure!
